Tonight Claridge's is hosting an exhibition with the wonderful fashion illustrator David Downton to celebrate his role as the hotel's artist in residence.
'Midnight at Noon' is running during London Fashion Week 13-18 September and features Downton’s elegant portraits of some of the hotels most illustrious guests and fashionable friends. Portraits include Diane Von Furstenberg, Dita Von Teese, Joan Collins, Alber Elbaz, Christian Louboutin, Laura Bailey, Stephen Jones and Sir Paul Smith.
Many of the exhibition’s subjects have been drawn at David’s favourite table four in the glamorous setting of Claridge’s Fumoir Bar, the room that Downton affectionately refers to as his ‘office’.
