A blog post: Once By Alys
An active Saturday afternoon catching up with a girlfriend I hadn’t seen
in a long time, it’s 10 years since we back-packed around Australia.
Power Yoga in a sunny London park ending with prosecco. What a
fantastic way to spend the afternoon with Secret Urban Escapes, Power Yoga and wearing Tiny Fish Leggings.
I’ve been in touch with the lovely Iris from Secret Urban Escapes and
she kindly booked me into one of her many exciting active events. It’s
called Alfresco Yoga and Prosecco, sounds perfect to me.
The events take place in a secret location which you find out the day
before by email. We get to the location and it’s a sunny Saturday
there’s Lululemon yoga mats layed out in a gorgeous setting of rose
gardens in central London near the Thames River. Close by is a pretty
set up of picnic blankets and cooler boxes for our post workout treat.
The class and event is introduced by Iris (below) and then Emily
takes us through a tough 90 minute power yoga class. The class is fast
paced giving you just enough time to settle into your pose then on to
the next. You definitely feel like you’re getting a fantastic workout
and at the end my legs are starting to shake. Emily’s movements are
fantastic and we all follow hoping that with this one class we will walk
away with abs like hers.
After the class we are all treated to raw nibbles, prosecco
and coconut water, all delicious. Everyone chats and gets to know each
other. There’s such a relaxed vibe. I’ll be back to another Secret Urban
Escape soon and will be joining Emily’s in her new studio soon to be put through another workout.
