The game-changing secret London workout

Working out and going out are no longer mutually exclusive - here's how to socialise without maxing out your My Fitness Pal.

By Taylor Anderson for Women's Health

What do you get when you combine a workout led by top London trainers (think Ellie Goulding’s right hand man Faisal Abdalla or Barry’s Bootcamp legend Shane Collins), a Paleo taco truck, live music and coconut water vodka? A Secret Urban Escape, that’s what.

After launching last year, it’s no surprise Secret Urban Escape events have become a must-stop on London’s fitness circuit. The premise is simple – you sign up knowing only the name of the trainer, the type of workout, and a vague sense of the location.

The final address is emailed to you a few hours before the workout, old-school rave style, and all events are held in chic London locations, from Westminster rooftops to Shoreditch warehouses.

They happen twice a month (mostly on Fridays) and although the workout and location changes every time, the event is always the same: power through an hour-long workout, then sit down to enjoy a Paleo feast courtesy of food truck Feed Me Primal and a Lovo coconut water vodka – all included in the price of your ticket. Many of the sessions even feature live music from up-and-coming groups like duo LewRay, who serenaded us with John Legend/Notorious B.I.G./Journey mash-ups on drums and keyboard (yes, really). The pub is gonna miss you.

The essentials:
PRICE: £35 a ticket.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY: The next events are Flow in the Dark on Friday, 2 October and Fight Club on Friday, 23 October.
